A work in progress series exploring the Conservative government’s claims of “levelling up” in the North East of England, highlighting that contrary to the press releases and promises, it appears wherever the money is going, its not coming here. Amongst the places documented – Newcastle, Durham, Sunderland, Merton, Easington, Seaham, Hendon, Ryhope. My focus is on the neglect by the Conservative government of area’s around the UK (in particular the Northeast) whilst also showing the intrinsic beauty and community spirit that exists in spite of this.
